Day 1- Your current relationship status, if single discuss how single life is.
As most of my viewers/readers know, I have a sweet young man who has been my best friend, sidekick, and better half for the past three-years. Our story is kinda short and sweet and to the point- although I wish I had a lovely movie plot, real-life experience, I am certainly happy, and blessed with what I can share.
Dakota and I met through mutual friends.

Myself, Dakota, Logan, and Lily- High School Summer. |
As a freshman at Eastern, I barely knew anyone, but I loved everyone. I remember so vividly saying hey to anyone who said hello to me in the mornings, or throughout the day. It was great. At least freshman year, ha. Anyway, Dakota was dating another young lady at the time (who I was actually friends with).
I remember hanging out in the lobby of the auditorium before school started, and watching them, while I also watched my best friends who were together be all lovey dovey, and there I was.
But that was the joy in it.
When I was approaching the big first day of high school, I remember telling myself that I didn't need to care about boys. Let alone think about them, flirt with them, or have them around me. I mean, literally, boyfriends were a waste of time in high school for FAR too many girls, and quite frankly, no one wants to have their heart broken.
But, as time passed, Dakota and his girlfriend broke up… he hung out with another girl for a week or two, and then he was living the single life! My good friends who were together decided to introduce us… yay for doubling dating, right? And the next thing we knew, we had a math class together and were getting in trouble for exchanging hugs and laughs after lunch, rather than sitting down and doing the bell ringers.

Our first Christmas together, in the snow. |
Since then, Dakota and I have been on a wild adventure. The Lord has truly blessed me when a best friend, and boy friend. Although like every other couple we have had downfalls, and hard times… We have taken on the challenges head first; always supporting one another, and giving what we can, even when it got hard.

Our first trip to Pennsylvania to visit Dakota's family. |
He is responsible for giving me a chance to change my perspective on life, and help someone who needed it. He has taught me how to be more patient, thankful, and even to "chill" when you have the chance. Lol. Dakota has hugged me for hours as I cried over hardships, watched me compete in the biggest volleyball games of my life, and been there when everything seemed to be falling apart, willing to help me pick up pieces and put it all back together.

Senior Prom, 2013. We got best dressed! |
Dakota,
I am so grateful for you. I am blessed to know that The Lord planned for our paths to cross, and for each one of us impact one another. You have made such a dent in my life… One that I will forever look back at and love. It definitely is true (at least sometimes, and in this occasion) that love is blind. Neither one of us knew what would come from a movie and a kiss at Alamance Crossing… But look at where we are now. I cannot wait to see where our adventure continues, whether it be in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ireland-- Thank you Lord for big dreams, and plans! You are the best best friend I could of ever wanted, and I hope that my next fart doesn't scare you too far away.
Love always, and forever.
Your Together Half.
